Harmony Through Hunting
Hokkaido, a region abundant with endless natural scenery, boasts thriving populations of wildlife, from sea otters and Steller's sea eagles, to brown bears and red-crowned cranes. While conservations work hard to preserve most species, certain species - like the Ezo deer - have rapidly become overgrown, threatening the ecosystem and causing severe damage to crops and vehicles. To combat this, policies have been put in place urging hunters to help with the ethical reduction of these hazardous populations. Originally working in Kanagawa prefecture as a businessman, Masanao moved all the way to Hokkaido's northern terrain to pursue his passion for hunting. Sit passenger side as he scans the horizons of expansive agricultural fields and wooded forests for signs of deer, ready to spring into action at any moment. Learn more about the careful conversation efforts being conducted in Hokkaido, and how hunters assist in ensuring that balance is maintained, while immersing directly into the thrill of the hunt yourself.
