Your privacy is important to us. To understand how we utilize information given to us by customers and site visitors who use our website or our services, please see below.
1. Introduction
1.1 An individual’s name, address, telephone number, email address, and other direct contact forms constitute Personal Information (“Personal Information”). Deeper Travel Inc. (“the Company”) which manages the platform Deeper Japan, shall comply with laws and regulations on the protection of Personal Information as for the handling of information of a user provided by a Customer (“Customer”) of our website and follow the Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) below.
1.2 The Company will comply with laws and regulations, guidelines set by the Company’s country of operation (Japan), and other standards regarding the handling of Personal Information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Customers Give to Us. This includes information that is necessary for the use of the Deeper Japan Platform (“Platform”) and Experiences (“Experience”), including but not limited to name, address, and phone number, as well as information that the Customer chooses to give us, such as any medical or physical conditions that may help us in providing the Customer a better Experience. The Customer may also choose to disclose their age, opinion, and other personal details in our Feedback (“Feedback”) form. We do not save information that is necessary for the use of payment services.
2.2 Information that we automatically collect from your (“Site User”) use of the Platform. The Platform automatically tracks IP addresses and may use cookies, web beacons, browser analysis tools, and server logs to collect statistical data to improve Customer-Platform interaction. We collect information about a Site User’s interactions with the Deeper Japan Platform such as the pages or content a Site User views, their searches for Experiences and bookings a Customer may have made. In most cases, the information collected is used in a fully anonymous manner.
2.3 Photographs we take during Experiences. Customers may be photographed by the Company team or the Master during the Experience, but we will never use a photo of the Customer without permission.
3. Usage of Personal Information
3.1 Personal Information may be used by the Company in the following situations:
To extend services based on a booking through the Platform
To respond to requests made through our Contact page and to provide Customer support
To authenticate Customer access to Experiences
To promote campaigns
To send out and gather information from Feedback forms.
3.2 We shall not disclose any Personal Information without the Customer’s consent except in the following cases:
The Customer has been identified by the Company as a malefactor and shall be rightly reported to police authorities or a similar institution
The information has been passed on as the result of a Company merger.
If Personal Information has been shared with the consent of a Customer with another Company, the Personal Information will then be treated in accordance with said Company’s Terms.
3.3 Within a certain timeframe after completing an Experience, Customers and Interpreters can submit feedback through an online form. We welcome and encourage Customers to provide comments and suggestions for improvements to Interpreters, Experiences, Masters, our Platform, and our Company. Any submitted Feedback is done so with no compensation and is considered non-confidential and non-proprietary to Customers. The Company reserves copyright on Feedback, and opinions collected may be used as data for statistical analysis or quotes for published articles among other things.
3.4 At the request of verified Customers, the Company will remove any previously disclosed Personal Information from public platforms.
3.5 The Company cannot guarantee that data related to Deeper Japan will be protected in the case of cybersecurity attacks, and shall not take responsibility in the case of such an uncontrollable circumstance.
4. Revisions to our Privacy Policy
4.1 We may revise our Company’s Privacy Policy at any time. In the case of a change in terms, we shall publish the latest version on our Platform.

Terms of Service
These Terms constitute a legally binding Agreement ("Agreement") between you (“Reader”) and Deeper Travel Inc. (“the Company”), which manages the Deeper Japan platform, governing your access to and use of Deeper Japan services.
The Agreement is governed by the laws of Japan and any dispute related to its terms is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Summary Court.
1. Deeper Japan Services
1.1 The Deeper Japan Platform (“Platform”) is an informational source and online marketplace for Experiences (“Experiences”) offered in Japan. The Platform enables Customers (“Customers”) to book paid Experiences offered by local Masters (“Masters”). Experiences may include the offering of properties for use ("Homestays"), single or multi-day activities in various categories. Deeper Japan acts as a liaison between Customers and Masters, handling transactions and communications prior to and after the Experience date.
1.2 As the provider of the Platform, the Company does not own or create any Experiences.
2. Customers
2.1 If a Customer books an Experience on behalf of additional Customers, the booker must inform each additional Customer of these Terms and ensure they agree to them and all requirements and additional conditions set by the Master.
2.2 All Customers must meet the age requirement as listed by the Master. Minors may only participate in an Experience if accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them. If a Customer books an Experience for an additional Customer who is a minor, the Customer thereby confirm that they are legally authorized to act on behalf of said minor.
2.3 No additional individuals may attend an Experience unless they have been booked in as Customers through the Platform.
2.4 Customers should thoroughly review booking page descriptions to confirm that they and any additional Customers meet all listed conditions, including but not limited to minimum age or fitness requirements. Customers should inform the Company upon booking an Experience concerning any factors that may affect their participation ability, such as medical or physical conditions. The legal drinking age in Japan will apply to all Experiences. Customers are responsible for identification and compliance of all relevant rules and regulations to their Experience.
2.5 Customers should at all times adhere to the Masters’ instructions while at an Experience.
2.6 The Company cannot guarantee complete Customer satisfaction for Experiences, validity of information provided during the Experience, or quality of the Experience as an effect of unexpected errors or obstructions.
3. Company Communication with Customers and Masters
3.1 The Company may deliver advertisements through email to Customers or Masters.
3.2 Business hours for the Company are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time. (Closed on weekends and national holidays, as well as year-end holidays (12/30 - 1/5)), and all non-interactive communication outside business hours are deemed to have been received on the next business day.
4. Booking Modifications and Cancellations
4.1 For our Geisha and Dashi Experiences, Customers should make bookings at least 14 days in advance. For our Kintsugi (Kyoto), Wagasa Umbrella, and Guided Forest Trekking Experiences, Customers should make bookings at least 7 days in advance. For our Shojin Ryori, Sake Brewery Tour (Osaka), Bamboo Craft, Tie-dying, Nihon Buyo (Setagaya) Experience, and Glass Bead Experiences, Customers should make bookings at least 3 days in advance. For all other Experiences, Customers should make bookings at least 24 hours in advance.
4.2 For a full refund, cancel at least 8 days before the Experience or, cancel within 12 hours of completing the booking* (*Only applies to bookings made 5-7 days before the Experience). Time and days are all in Japan Standard Time.
4.3 If the master is not available on a Customer’s desired date, we will do our best to provide alternate dates. If rescheduling doesn’t work out, we will issue the Customer a full refund.
4.4 Customers will receive a full refund if the Experience has been canceled by the Master.
4.5 For Experiences, if weather poses a safety risk to Customers, or if it prevents a Master from carrying out an Experience that takes place primarily outdoors, Masters may cancel the Experience. Masters may also cancel the Experience if other conditions exist that would prevent the Master from offering the Experience safely. The Company will not take any responsibility for any damage caused by natural disasters.
4.6 In certain circumstances the Company may cancel pending or confirmed bookings and initiate corresponding refunds and payouts.
5. Interpreters
There may be times where we cannot provide Interpreters (“Interpreters”) in a Customer’s preferred language, in which case we'll provide English interpretation.
6. Damage to Accommodations, Disputes between Members
Customers are responsible for leaving the Experience Location (“Experience Location”) (including any personal or other property located at the Experience Location) in the condition it was in upon arrival.
7. Rounding Off
Deeper Japan supports payment amounts that are payable from or to Customers or Masters to the smallest unit supported by a given currency (U.S. cents, 1 Yen).
8. Prohibited Activities
8.1 In connection with the use of the Deeper Japan Platform, Customers, Masters, Interpreters, and Site Users will not and will not assist or enable others to:
breach or circumvent any applicable laws or regulations, Agreements with third-parties, third-party rights, or our Terms, Policies or Standards;
offer, as a Master, any Experience that the Master himself or herself does not have permission to make available through the Deeper Japan Platform;
discriminate against or harass anyone on the basis of race, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, age or sexual orientation, or otherwise engage in any violent, harmful, abusive or disruptive behavior;
use any automated means or processes to access, collect data or other content from or otherwise interact with the Deeper Japan Platform for any purpose;
violate or infringe anyone else’s rights or otherwise cause harm to anyone.

*The Company reserves the right to change, add, and delete content of this Agreement at any time, without obtaining the approval of Customers, and shall deem publication of the Agreement as the notice to and acknowledgment from the Customer of this right.
