The sheer vastness of scenery

The remarkably pronounced four seasons of Hokkaido consist of a long half-year winter, and a brief summer flanked by colorful spring and autumn. Availing itself of each season’s wonders is a private horseback riding club occupying a stretch of plains between the Ishikari River (Japan’s third longest) and the Sea of Japan. The club’s fields are deep with snow in the winter, fragrant with blooming roses in the summer, and tinged gold from pampas grass in the autumn. Professional trainers are available to guide everyone from beginner to veteran horseman on a ride through the property. Enjoy a leisurely trot or a vigorous gallop through the fields before riding to stunning views of the Sea of Japan. Sit atop your thoroughbred steed as you scan the uninterrupted shoreline out to the horizon. Though you know you are in Japan, the sheer vastness of scenery creates an otherworldly aura. All this, a mere 40 minutes by car from Sapporo, Hokkaido’s largest city.

What you’ll do

You will start with how to ride a horse at the riding ground. After the short lesson, you will ride the horse along the sea of Japan with a beautiful scenery.
