Soy Since the Start
Founded by one of Ashaikawa's first settlers almost 200 years in the past, soy sauce production at this representative factory has continued unbroken since the early Meiji period. One of the oldest companies formed in Hokkaido, its rich flavor has fostered Hokkaido's expansive food culture, as well as garnered national attention and countless awards, including the prestigious Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Award. Meticulous attention is paid to developing the complex, nuanced soy sauce flavor that serves as the crucial foundation for countless representative Japanese cuisines. Manufacturing in this traditional Meiji-era building has since diversified beyond solely soy sauce, producing a greater range of seasonings for customers to enjoy. Experience a private guided tour through this soy sauce factorywith a history innately entwined with Hokkaido's own modern origins, then delve into the depth of flavor yourself with a sampling of the company's finest products.
