A uniquely stunning location of both ecological and cultural importance, visitors to the area can immerse into a world of natural wonder, whether through hiking, wildlife-watching, or dipping into lake-side hot springs. Or, hop on horseback and trek deeper into Eastern Hokkaido's frontiers. The horses at this stable have been selectively bred with draft horses and feature broader backs that make riding through the wilderness easy even for beginners. Since the Meiji Period, horses and settlers have lived side by side, working together to develop the region. Experience this horseback heritage while taking in the sweeping, panoramic views of the Akan-Mashu area for an unforgettable Eastern Hokkaido adventure, guided by skilled horseback professionals and accompanied by a guide for seamless interpretation.

What you’ll do

Visit the stables and gear up at the riding grounds. After a short introduction on riding, set off into the surrounding scenery and take in views of dense forests and dormant volcanic mountains.

Who can attend

Children must be 15 years old and able to ride a horse.
