Tea Life, Tea Mind

According to master tea sourcer Imagawa-san, there are three considerations necessary when sourcing good tea: first, the tea should be free of additives and colors; second, the tea should avoid manufacturing tricks and ploys; and third, the tea must showcase the natural characteristics of local tea fields. A pillar of the local Onomichi community for over 150 years, Imagawa-san’s tea shop has kept these tenets in mind, with only the freshest and highest quality teas on offer. What makes the tea so special are the house blending and roasting techniques which create a unique flavor profile suited to Onomichi tastes. In this experience, tour the tea house and learn about the traditional roasting and blending processes required for making tea. Then, enjoy a private tasting of tea prepared by the master, led according to the industry’s professional standards.
