Mouthwatering flavors

Sake is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice that has played a dynamic role in Japanese cuisine and culture for centuries. This clear beverage is served and enjoyed in a variety of settings, everywhere from household meals to celebrations and religious ceremonies. Considered the drink of the gods in the Shinto religion, it is also drunk at festivals and offered to the kami (gods). Sake is made of polished water, and Koji (a product made from steamed rice and mold that converts starch into sugars) and water. Sake can be enjoyed with a wide variety of foods and you may be surprised at some of the pairings offered at this local favorite izakaya. Your taste buds will sure to be delighted!
